Project

Ridaje is a social entrepreneurship project that accompanies homeless people on a path of reintegration that includes opportunities for vocational training and employment as urban gardeners for the redevelopment of abandoned green areas, psychological support, and housing support. Thanks to Ridaje, socially fragile and disadvantaged people have the chance to get back into the game and redeem their position in society, starting with the recovery of professional and personal dignity, learning a trade and being able to live in housing made available to them.

By becoming gardeners, in fact, they acquire new skills and at the same time provide a useful service to the common good that makes them an active part of urban redevelopment, in which citizens, shopkeepers and neighborhood committees also participate by adopting the green areas to be cared for.

In addition, the certification of the social impact generated by Ridaje offers the possibility for large companies to include the funded activities in their sustainability report.

The channel just mentioned generates 60 percent of the company's turnover and consists of the implementation of customized redevelopment plans for large companies such as AGOS, UNIQLO, Six Senses, and State Railways.

Ridaje offers a concrete solution to two important social problems: the recovery and ongoing maintenance of abandoned green spaces and the rehabilitation of homeless people. It helps them to rise from the condition of marginalization and welfare, and thanks to them it manages to improve the appearance and livability of cities.

Ridaje's startup was born in 2019 as a spin-off of a European research project dedicated to the topic of empowerment processes and integral development enablement promoted by social enterprises, thanks to an initial idea of Lorenzo Di Ciaccio and Luca Mongelli, with a founding group of 19 partners coordinated by a team of professionals with strong experience in social entrepreneurship.

In four years of activity it has already achieved important results:

  • 50 trained gardeners of which 8 are currently employed and 8 reintegrated at other companies.
  • Over 50 thousand square meters of neglected public green space recovered
  • 700 thousand euros of social impact generated in 3 years
  • Over 115,000 euros of urban redevelopment and maintenance projects carried out thanks to the support of private companies
  • Entry in the supplier register of Ferrovie dello Stato
  • 25. 000 euros raised through its crowdfunding portal

Tax benefits of 30% apply on Ridaje .
