About 85% of the meat we consume in Italy comes from intensive farming, and over 50% from abroad (report ISMEA 2020).

Pascol is an innovative startup that makes it easy to buy meat of certain origin and raised sustainably and aims to revolutionize this market sector in Italy.

Founded in 2019 and immediately growing exponentially, Pascol has built from scratch a lean and innovative supply chain, manned in all its phases, from the selection of breeders to the distribution of products.

The main mission of the company, in addition to economic sustainability, is to promote a conscious and sustainable purchasing behavior for the consumer.

In fact, Pascol does not limit itself to offering selected cuts of meat, but allows the consumer to choose and learn about the farm of origin, the breed of cattle and all the information related to breeding methods.

The purchase of Pascol products enhances the value of the small selected farms, guarantees the cattle a life worth living and ensures an extremely reduced environmental impact of the production compared to the breeding practiced in intensive farms.

On the Pascol campaign is active the Massive Rubrication service. The service is free for the investor as the costs are borne by Pascol.

CUSTOMER NEED

The reputational variable of the company, with regard to its social and environmental impact, has become the main driver for the purchase choice of 32% of consumers, compared to 16% in 2015. In the same timeframe, the percentage of consumers who consider price as the first variable has decreased from 46% to 35% in 2020 (ConsumerLab 2020 Survey). In this context, Pascol allows anyone to buy genuine meat, of certain provenance and sustainably reared, making a purchasing choice that enhances the Italian rural economy, the conditions in which the animals are reared and the relative environmental impact.

CUSTOMER & TRACTION

Starting from scratch in June 2019, in the meantime concluding the degree in September, the turnover was € 53k in just 6 months. The area mainly served was the province of Sondrio.

In 2020 Pascol grew exponentially, reaching a turnover of € 528k, almost exclusively on the online B2C channel Pascol.it.

In 2021, the year designated for the better structuring of processes, team and supply chain optimization, the growth trend continues, with the approach to the B2B market and already two important partnerships concluded with Carrefour and Deliveristo.
