Project

Meeters is an innovative startup that offers a new way to socialize and share real experiences, from a simple dinner to a multi-day trip. Using digital tools it promotes the meeting of people with the aim of finding new friends in an easy and safe way.

Becoming a "meeters" is simple and practical: you just need to buy an annual membership, which gives access to discounts on events, conventions and registration to local groups reserved, through which you can start getting to know the members of the community from day one. In addition, the membership gives access to all sorts of activities, from aperitifs and dinners to nature excursions, trips to beautiful cities of art or weekends out of town, which are perfect opportunities to socialize for a community of over 50,000 users.

The mass use of social media has contributed to making people feel increasingly digitally connected but paradoxically increasingly lonely, a feeling that has been amplified by the repeated lockdowns and periods of isolation imposed by the health emergency due to Covid-19. Today 55% of Italians suffer from loneliness, and Meeters' mission is to counteract this problem.
In particular, Meeters' target is single people over 40, who have fewer opportunities to socialize than younger people and who make intense use of social networks to meet new online friends. The aim of Meeters is precisely to give them a tool to meet each other, creating group events where it is easy to break the ice, getting them to know each other first through social groups (and soon through the mobile app) and creating an ideal context.

The launch of the app will represent a real turning point in terms of the service offered, as it will allow to internalise all the aspects that today are left to external social networks, from group chats organised by area and specific event to groups in which to introduce themselves and share photographs. The app will allow users to get to know first the people who will be attending events and to see the activities of their friends, transforming Meeters into a service that can be used every day, not just around meetings, exponentially increasing engagement and retention potential.

Meeters continues to grow despite the heavy impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the industry, which has prevented any social activity from taking place for months. Expected 2021 revenue is €1.2M, more than 50% higher than in 2020. Since the start of 2020, Meeters has organised over 3,300 events for around 43,000 people.
