Immobiliallasta.it is the proptech scaleup that allows people to buy their dream home at auction, at half the price. Now it is ready to ride one of the biggest changes in the housing market.
After 15 years of interest rates between 0 and 1 percent, a new era is underway: for the first time in 20 years, rates have risen to 4.5 percent, and this is changing the way Italians look for and buy homes.
Italians consider a home a primary asset to buy, and 45% do so by taking out a mortgage, but starting this year they will no longer be able to access it easily. If last year a family could afford a mortgage of €300,000, today the bank will only give them €180,000. Because of this, it will be more difficult to buy a house through traditional methods.
Where can they find a house at a price they can afford?
The data say in auctions, where a property costs about half as much. The problem is that traditional portals are not suitable for making auctions accessible to anyone, because the search takes hours and hours and reading technical documents, without offering any guarantee on the property.
