The City of Chocolate is an ambitious and innovative project that aims to create the largest experiential museum dedicated to cocoa and chocolate in Italy, scheduled to open in 2025.
This project comes to life in the historic city of Perugia, inside theformer Mercato Coperto, a symbolic building that will be redeveloped and returned to the community as a new tourist and cultural hub. The choice of Perugia is not random: the city has a long tradition linked to chocolate, being the home of the historic Perugina company, founded in 1907.
The idea comes from Eugenio Guarducci, founder of Eurochocolate, one of the best-known international events in the chocolate industry, which has been held in Perugia for 30 years, with more than 800,000 visitors per single edition.
The City of Chocolate envisages diversified revenue lines , which are based on museum activity(370,000 visitors expected from the third year and projected revenues of more than 3mln€ from the first year of opening and more than 4.5mln€ from the third), revenues from sub-concessions of the choco-shop, bar-chocolate shop and chocolate factory spaces, and educational educational educational and experiential activities.
The Chocolate City represents an innovative fusion of culture, urban regeneration and social responsibility, leveraging the strong identity value that chocolate holds in the Umbrian capital. The desire is to create a major tourist attraction capable of generating a strong induced effect on the territory and to become a replicable project in other Italian locations and abroad.
Several local and national entrepreneurial entities have embraced the idea from the outset, becoming partners and bringing their know-how, including Coopculture, a leader in Italy in museum management, Bee for Impact, active in the social economy, Orizzonte Nove, a leading player in the creative and cultural industry, and Sifra, active in the tourist accommodation sector. Some of the members represent prominent figures in local and national business associations.
For the evaluation of the business project, the company prepared a business plan sworn by the well-known advisory firm Nomisma.
Destination Chocolate S.r.l. SB has already obtained financing to help fully cover the construction of the work, all thanks in part to the Italia Economia Sociale measure of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, managed by Invitalia.
Chocolate City is set to become a landmark for chocolate lovers and an investment opportunity in a project with significant financial resources already deliberated and an experienced entrepreneurial team, which guarantees its solidity.
Chocolate City reserves the right of "liquidation preference" for all investors who join the campaign, who will therefore be reimbursed first in the event of an exit than the company's other shareholders (according to the order of preference indicated in the bylaws). All conditions are published in the bylaws found in the Documents section.
On the campaign is available the optional Rubrication free of charge for the Investor as the costs are borne by Chocolate City.
