Be Green Tannery is the first innovative tanning company that provides the big brands operating in the world of fashion and luxury with truly sustainable leather.
The tanning industry still largely uses chrome tanning, a technique that contains a significant percentage of heavy metals with a consequent negative impact on the environment (20% of the world's clean water pollution is produced by textile treatments and dyes).
The sustainable and metal free tanning , studied by Be Green Tannery, is characterized by a significantly lower presence of heavy metals (Cr, Al, Ti, Zr, Fe) compared to a traditional chrome tanning, a decisive factor for maintaining the standards required for sustainability and respect for the environment.
The Fashion Pact signed between the big luxury brands, in fact, broke the old paradigms of the Fashion industry, confirming the companies' commitment to a sustainable approach along the entire production chain.
The company was established in 2018 by Felice De Piano and Annalisa De Piano, representatives of the third generation of a family of entrepreneurs in the tanning industry with an important history behind them that, over time, has seen them forge business relationships with many suppliers and customers around the world.
Accomplice to the decades of family experience, at the end of 2019 the company already had 38 customers and a turnover of 3.7 million euros.
The leather produced by Be Green Tannery differs in the following ways:
The company reality of Be Green Tannery comes from a totally disruptive concept, having undertaken a path focused on sustainability. It is located in the historical tanning district of Solofra, in the province of Avellino, the most important Italian tanning pole for the production of sheep and goat skins.
