David Casalini is founder and CEO of StartupItalia, since 2016 the largest Italian community dedicated to the startup and innovation ecosystem that, together with Marco Montemagno and the founders of Nana Bianca, has launched a project to become the launch pad for innovation in our country.

Aveteran of the world of innovation and start ups - when few still called them startups - David Casalini has held roles of increasing responsibility between Florence and New York at Dada, one of the first providers in Italy that later became an internet company, and at Buongiorno, another innovative company operating worldwide in the market for applications and paid content for mobile phones that later became an incubator for startups.
David Casalini has a deep knowledge of online publishing and has directed the design and development for web and mobile platforms of editorial products such as Vogue, Vanity Fair and Wired, all part of the Condé Nast group.

David Casalini is also the creator of StartupItalia! Open Summit, the largest event dedicated to innovation, which in 2018 reached its third edition and saw the official launch of the StartupItalia campaign, together with Marco Montemagno and the Nana Bianca team.
The event, held last December 17, brought 200 speakers on stage at the Palazzo del Ghiaccio in Milan, 20 workshops and 7 masterclasses, physically involving 10,500 people between entrepreneurs, startuppers, digital natives, investors, journalists and representatives of institutions > discover the campaign and invest too

Many are the objectives of the Summit, which the network also knows as #SIOS: to circulate ideas and knowledge, put people, ideas and capital in contact, but above all, says Casalini, "torestore confidence in this extraordinary country, valuing all those who cultivate new ideas with their work and try to realize them".

With the clear goal of becoming a reference point for the Italian innovation ecosystem, which in 2018 touched 10,000 startups.

Casalini, in a recent interview with Corriere della Sera in which he analyzes the success of the 2018 edition: "We have arrived at the so-called 'tipping point', turning point. In fact, this year the Italian innovation ecosystem has been able in the last year to triple its investments in startups, exceeding 400 million Euros of investments and guaranteeing 50 thousand jobs despite the delicate economic context. We are among the top ten European investors in startups".
