What is the decisive engine to make the so-called "brain drain" return to Italy?
For Ilaria Pucher, physicist, born in 1985, and since 2017 manager of research and development at Green Energy Storage, the opportunity to find employment in a highly innovative working environment where she could develop the technologies that are revolutionizing traditional energy storage systems was fundamental.
Find out more about Green Energy Storage, the startup that produces batteries to store renewable energy efficiently and economically.
Graduated in Physics in 2010 at the University of Trento, Ilaria Pucher carried out an experimental thesis in the field of gravitational waves and then obtained her PhD and post-doctorate at the University of Florida, where she deepened the theme of water electrolysis.
The meeting with Green Energy Storage allowed her not only to continue her research on the topics covered by her thesis, but also to return to Trento in 2017 after six years in the United States, as she recounts in an interview with Corriere della Sera, entirely dedicated to her and to the very high value skills that the Trentino startup managed to bring back to Italy:
"I accepted the proposal of Green Energy Storage to return to Italy because I strongly believe in the work of the company- the only one at national level to work on a technology of this type- and I am convinced that our country, thanks also to companies that invest in scientific research and on young talents, can be competitive at international level. ”
Encouraging the return of the best professionals toItaly is a decisive factor for the growth of Green Energy Storage, as Rodolfo Pinto, CEO and Innovation Manager of GES, testifies:
"In the development of its solution, although with global ambitions, GES aims to create and maintain in Italy a supply chain of excellence, not only from the technological point of view but also from the point of view of human capital. For this reason, the company has given immediate importance to the recruitment of highly specialized figures, also going to recover brains on the run and placing them in a context of high innovation in which to exploit their skills. The team now includes several PhDs and post-docs as well as specialized technicians, some of whom have returned from abroad to join the company."
The Green Energy Storage collection has already exceeded € 1 million: discover it and invest in the company that has established partnerships with the best centers of excellence in the field of research and with the main players in the energy sector.
