Kiwi Campus is the company with the most robot-operated deliveries in the world.
It has developed an advanced food delivery technology platform based on robotic hardware and machine learning that is revolutionizing the college campus market. It has launched at 10UC Berkeley campuses where it will soon complete its first 7000 deliveries.
It has launched service at Stanford and is ready to roll it out across the Bay Area.
Kiwibots are robots dedicated to automated deliveries and represent the technological core of Kiwi Campus' innovative revolution. They are guided by a navigation system based on machine learning and monocular computer vision.
Technological development is constantly evolving: the latest models have a computer 10 times more powerful than the first versions, have a battery life increased by 4 times and are water resistant. The Kiwi Brain, a system of sensors, cameras and computers, makes Kiwibot an example of world engineering excellence.
Logistics performance is continuously improving. Between March and November 2017, the average delivery time went from 95 to 41 minutes and the number of hourly orders per single robot increased by 500% in the last 4 months of the year alone.
Tripled the coverage area, from 2 to 6 miles with the goal of exceeding 150 deliveries with 15 robots on the road in a single day.
Kiwi Campus' technological research is projected into the future: the goal is to create an increasingly complex automated and multimodal logistics platform of which robots are a component.
In 2018, in fact, it is planned to design means-hubs designed to manage the mass movement of many orders between the different areas covered by the service and for the storage of dozens of Kiwibots, and four-wheeled motorcycles, which can carry up to 4 robots, designed to give greater agility to the logistics system.
In this way the company aims to expand its technology to the entire delivery chain (from the point of sale to the end user), taking advantage of the expertise and product development gained in the last mile sector.
The team, composed of 27 resources operating between Berkeley, Tijuana and Shenzen, is also finalizing important partnerships with commercial players to extend the network and service coverage.
