Ortofrutticola, a leading company in the distribution for large-scale retail trade, has finalized an investment of 100 thousand euros, thus consolidating its strategic role in the project that already sees it as a partner of Cicalia in the purchase of goods, logistics and preparation of shopping.
Ortofrutticola, strong of decades of experience in the traditional food sector with 100 employees, 2 thousand customers and a turnover of over 100 million, strongly believes that the future of the food market must pass through innovative business as Cicalia, where the technological evolution is designed to offer the best possible customer experience and build an effective alternative model to traditional supermarket shopping.
Among the future innovative developments, the result of this union, there is the birth of the first fully automated warehouse in Italy that provides the mechanical withdrawal of products from the shelves and the subsequent preparation for shipment. The goal of the first warehouse, already in an advanced stage, is to lower the costs of composition of expenses by allowing the preparation of up to 700 units per day, maximizing the revenues of operations and allowing the startup a scalable development.
This allows Cicalia to be already present in the 20 Italian regions and to be able to manage shipments within 24-72 hours in every area of the country, matching the high logistics standards of the big players in the market.
