Amazon, after a year of testing in the United States, arrives in Europe, particularly in Great Britain, with the Amazon Restaurants service.
In an already competitive and busy sector, Amazon will focus on the speed of deliveries, onreliability and on thewide choice of restaurants. The service for now will be available only for "Amazon Prime" customers, which in the UK costs 79 pounds. Thanks to the service of the big A, Londoners will be able to choose among 180 ethnic and starred restaurants and receive their order with an "ultra-fast service", that is within an hour, assures Al Wilkinson, Amazon Restaurants manager for the UK.
The American company has therefore been seduced by a market that in Western Europe in the last 5 years has grown by 2.2% with a corresponding -7.6% of revenues from catering establishments (source: Euromonitor).
And in Italy? We still do not hear about the activation of the service in our country, despite representing a battlefield with international and local players and a sector that in 2015 had an estimated turnover of 400 million euros.
