Business overview during phase 2:

In April 2020, PlayWood experienced a surge in online orders, up 363% in the European market and 52.9% in the US market, compared to April 2019. The biggest growth comes from sales through Amazon which increased by 3924% in comparison to the same month last year. The secret of this growth is related to the team's ability to deal with this critical period by making quick decisions to quickly adapt the business to new market needs. The company has therefore decided to put a new line of furniture on the market in advance, designed for those who have found themselves having to rebuild their workstations within the home. The number of professional investors taking part in the campaign is also increasing.

PlayWood has developed a modular hooking system which, thanks to coloured connectors available at different angles, allows you to build customised furniture for your home and temporary structures for furnishing exhibition spaces, retail, markets and trade fairs.

Thanks to its ease of use and its functionality, PlayWood has closed important distribution contracts with large chains in Japan, USA and EU, immediately acquiring an international profile: more than 500 thousand pieces have been sold, of which 300 thousand only in 2019, in 32 countries, generating a turnover of more than €500,000, 68% international. In fact, the company can count on international partnerships with large distribution groups such as Leroy-Merlin, Bauhaus and Obi.

After closing two important investment rounds with big names in Italian venture capital such as Primomiglio Sgr and LVenture Group Spa and business angels, PlayWood is now ready to face the scale-up phase.
