GoBeyond 2024: SMUSH materials wins Mamacrowd award

Also this year Mamacrowd, was a sponsor of GoBeyond, the Sisal initiative created to support responsible innovation and ideas capable of addressing social, economic and environmental challenges.

Gobeyond 2024 was a record-breaking edition with 460 startups applying and a significant presence of female-led realities, which rose to 42 percent, in contrast to the national figure, which to date stands at 13 percent. The GoBeyond Call for Ideas, now in its eighth edition, confirms itself as a point of reference for the Italian innovation ecosystem.

Who won the Call For Ideas?

Among the 460 startups that applied, SMUSH materials stood out by winning the competition and also getting the Mamacrowd prize, a Fast Track for a campaign on our equity crowdfunding platform.

With a clear and forward-looking mission, SMUSH materials tackles single-use plastic pollution by turning agricultural by-products into biomaterials for packaging. This startup won an equity free grant worth 50 thousand euros at GoBeyond's Call for ideas.

Other awards

In the latest edition of the GoBeyond event, the Sisal Retail Challenge was introduced, a 10,000 euro prize awarded to Northern Light Composites for a sustainable product that transforms fiberglass into a circular material.

In addition, a special prize for concept-stage startups was awarded in collaboration with Startup Geeks, which benefited Myconic, Elevair and DORA skincare with free access to the Startup Builder incubation program.

A special mention was given to Develop-Players in memory of Emilio Petrone, former CEO of Sisal, for his commitment to innovation and social impact.
