CAMPAGNA DI SUCCESSO
Do you remember Bionit Labs? It is an innovative startup from Salento that in 2019 conducted a successful campaign on Mamacrowd, involving 132 people and raising 200 thousand euros
Thanks also to the equity crowdfunding, undertaken when the company was born a year ago and to the crowd investors who first believed in it, Bionit Labs has carried out its most important project: Adam's Hand, the first fully adaptive bionic hand in the world
To date, there is not yet on the market a myoelectric prosthesis of the upper limb - i.e. activated by muscle impulses of the subject wearing it - characterized both by great ease of use and high robustness, with sustainable costs for the end user. Adam's Hand is currently at an advanced stage of testing and will arrive in Italy at the beginning of 2022, before expanding to the main European countries and the United States, which represent the most important market for the prosthesis sector.
We are coming back to talk about Bionit Labs as the crowd partners of the 2019 campaign have decided to believe in the company again, taking part in a new investment round led by Cdp Venture Capital sgr (through the Fondo Italia Venture II - Fondo Imprese Sud) and Fondo per la Ricerca e l'Innovazione 'Rif', managed by Equiter and dedicated to research and innovation in Southern Italy; the round in total amounts to €3.5 million.
"Having with us also two investment funds so relevant on the national scene does nothing but motivate us even more to work at our best, creating value for our customers and our members". says Giovanni Zappatore, CEO and founder of BionIT Labs.
"This operation allows us to invest, through the Rif Fund and, for the first time together with Cdp Venture Capital, in an innovative startup that represents national excellence. The Rif Fund is managed by Equiter, which to date has carried out 13 transactions for over € 76 million", explains Carla Patrizia Ferrari, CEO of Equiter.
Simultaneously with the closing of the round, BionIT Labs also strengthens its management structure with a new Board of Directors, composed of Matteo Aventaggiato (co-founder) and Giuseppe Giannasio, director appointed on behalf of CDP Venture Capital Sgr, who will support CEO Giovanni Zappatore in the management of the company.
This new round added to the confidence confirmed by the crowd and the representatives of the venture funds who joined the Board of Directors, validate the work of Bionit Labs and help it in its path towards the goal of "Transforming Disabilities into New Possibilities".
